Electronic Bankruptcy Noticing

FRBP 9036 allows an entity to request to receive notices in a specific type of electronic transmission rather than by mail. If an entity so elects in writing, then notice is complete when the sender obtains electronic confirmation that the transmission has been received. Contact the Bankruptcy Noticing Center to register for electronic noticing.

Through contractual relations with the Bankruptcy Noticing Center the bankruptcy court can now provide electronic noticing for the notices sent by the court. The notices that are presently available for this are the Notice of Meeting of Creditors, Notice of Conversion, and Notice of Discharge. The specific methods of transmission are Internet e-mail or fax. Notice by electronic transmission is faster than where the mail is used. More detailed information is available on Bankruptcy Noticing Center website, or by contacting the Noticing Center at 877-837-3424.
