Gail B. Geiger, Acting United States Trustee for Region 18, has appointed Matthew J. Anderton to the panel of Chapter 7 trustees for the Eastern District of Washington, effective February 10, 2017. He will be appointed in cases filed in Yakima, Wenatchee, and Moses Lake areas. He has previously served as a trustee under Chapter 11. Mr. Anderton has been engaged in the practice of law since 1984, after being awarded an LLM degree in federal taxation from Boston University. He completed his undergraduate work in Public Accounting at Gonzaga University in 1979, received his CPA credential in 1982, and earned his JD degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1983. He served as a trial attorney with the Appellate Section of the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice until 1988, and then served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. John A. Rossmeissl in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Washington. Mr. Anderton has worked in the fields of public accounting, tax litigation and transactions, general business matters, and estate planning.
